Who has used a Peavey Session 400 as a guitar amp?
Did you have any problems with it? Was there a particular signal processer which worked well with it?
Just bought one from a pawn shop. It still has the original JBL 15 inch speaker. I'm using it as a guitar amp along with a Danelectro distortion pedal and it has a wonderfully warm tone with the Strat. I was just curious as to how old this amp is and wondering what all I would need to get the reverb working again. I tried using a footswitch but it was either the wrong switch or the reverb coil is shot. Other than that it's a great amp and louder than hell!
Yes, these are kick-*ss amps which were originally designed for steel guitar. I personally recall first seeing them advertised in the early 1980's. I have no idea how long these were produced but you may be able to find some one or two digit date codes on the major components (transformers, capacitors, etc) if you look.
